Like many fresh college graduates, I was unsure of what I wanted to do and less certain of how to go about doing it.  Needless to say, my job search plunge was comparable to taking a dip in the Arctic: it was cold and overwhelming. 

Fast-forward a few years and, on the surface, everything seemed perfect.  I enjoyed my job, worked for a great company and felt appreciated by the chairman and my clients.  Yet something felt “off.”  I often found myself thinking about my grandfather who, after surviving a difficult childhood as a first generation immigrant, tirelessly fought to improve his community’s school system, despite never graduating from 8th grade himself.  If my knowledge could benefit Fortune 500’s, why couldn’t I use it to make a bigger impact on the lives of individuals and organizations? 

I’ve lived through the challenging experience of trying to uncover a career path by my lonesome.  Even after reading disturbing articles about unemployment rates and obstacles for college graduates, I didn’t fully clarify my professional purpose.  Friends and family would approach me for career advice…I still couldn’t pinpoint it.  Ironically, it wasn’t until a colleague – another executive coach – sought career guidance that the light bulb went off. 

I began helping those seeking who want more for themselves, then Career Diem was published for those seeking Interview help, and Vita Partners was publically launched after that.
